Community Grants

The Music Club of Greenville is pleased to provide grants, primarily to schools in Greenville, Pickens and Spartanburg Counties that will enhance their music education programs. Applications are accepted prior to October 1.  

Thank you to our grant partners: 
Elks Lodge #858 has partnered with us since 2013 providing assistance for music education in local schools.

The Graham Foundation has assisted in major grants, including providing funding for new and used instruments for our Greenville County School District system.

The Instrument Program, has also been made possible, in part, by BMW Manufacturing Company, LLC in partnership with the Metropolitan Arts Council.

2006
  • Fine Arts Center of Greenville County Schools – 2 tympani

2007-2008

  • ARMES program for elementary and middle school string students – Fiddle Fest
  • Generations Group Home - Provided funds for residents to participate in a jazz program in cooperation with the Peace Center
  • Lakeview Middle School - purchase and repair of instruments

2008-2009

  • Greenville Concert Band and Hughes Middle School – Purchased chimes to be shared
  • Greenville High School - purchase of instruments
  • Northwest Middle School - purchase of instruments
  • Woodmont High School - purchase of instruments
  • “New Life for Formerly Used Instruments” - Club program to benefit school music programs

2009-2010

  • Greenville County School District - Used Band Instrument Project
  • Fine Arts Center of Greenville County Schools - ARMES Strings Chamber Music, Sound Recording System for Strings Chamber Music Classes, Video Recording System for Voice Classes
  • Generations Group Home - Keyboard
  • The Greenville Chorale - to partially fund the commission of an original work for chorus and orchestra by Robert J. Powell
  • Greenville Concert Band - “Arts For A Lifetime Program”
  • International Ballet - to provide reduced price tickets for ballet performance
  • Woodmont Middle School - Bass Clarinet and Percussion Instruments

  • Monarch Elementary - $900 purchase of Orff instrument ensemble
  • Bryson Elementary - $450 purchase of 5 dulcimers
  • Sterling/Charles Townes - $600 purchase of 1 cello
  • Hillcrest High School Orchestra -  $700 purchase of violin, instrument repairs, music
